Lee Westwood Putting Grip

Lee Westwood has been playing some amazing golf this year and one reason is a change in his putting grip. This change in putting grip was from advice by Putting Tips guru Dave Stockton.

When they started working together this year, Stockton sensed that Westwood was wearing out the rubber of his putting grip, because he was so tense over the ball.

Stockton just asked Westwood to ease the pressure on his putting grip: And the results have been coming. Lee Westwood putting stroke has got better and his short game has got lower.

Dave Stockton says, putting grip is not rocket science, He advices,

Grip the putter any way you like, as long as it doesn’t hinder your left hand’s role in the stroke. But make sure to grip the club in your fingers. The shaft should run up the lifeline of your left hand for clubface control, but your fingers must contact the grip (right). You can drop the right forefinger down the shaft, but don’t steer with it. Forget about what your palms are doing. Fingers equal feel. Source, Golf Digest.
